Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Placeholder wording for layout review. This page must be replaced with copy reviewed by a Malaysian legal adviser before launch.
What this covers
This policy covers straitscore.com and both of its editions.
What we collect
Analytics. We record which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are, and which site sent them, so we know what to write more of. We do not use this to identify individuals.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store the email address you give us. We use it to send the newsletter and nothing else.
Server logs. Standard web-server records, including IP address and browser type, kept for a limited period for security and diagnostics.
We do not ask for or store payment details.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to function, and analytics cookies where you have consented. You can clear or block cookies in your browser; the site will still work.
Third parties
We share data with the providers that host the site, deliver the newsletter and supply analytics, only as needed to run those services. We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia) you can ask what data we
hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Write to
privacy@straitscore.com and we will respond.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will say so on this page and update the date below.
Placeholder — this text is a structural draft, not legal advice. It must be reviewed against the PDPA 2010 by a Malaysian legal adviser, and the specific processors, retention periods and cookie names filled in, before launch.
