About Us

A bilingual Malaysian football publication — one newsroom, two editions.

StraitScore covers Malaysian football for readers who follow it closely, in both English and Bahasa Melayu.

Two editions, not one translated twice

We publish two editions. The English edition serves readers who follow Malaysian football in English — including Chinese-Malaysian and expatriate readers, and Malaysians who simply read football in English. The Bahasa Melayu edition at /ms/ serves Malay-speaking readers.

These are not translations of each other. Each edition is written for its own audience, and a story that matters to one may not run in the other. Where a piece genuinely belongs in both, we write it twice rather than run it through a translator.

What we cover

  • Malaysian football — the Malaysia Super League, the Malaysia Cup, and the clubs.
  • Harimau Malaya — the national team, qualifiers and the squad.
  • World football, from here — the Premier League, the Champions League and the World Cup, covered with Malaysian kickoff times and Malaysian context.

How we work

Every article carries a byline naming the writer who produced it, their role, and the date it was published. Where a piece has been updated after publication, we say so and when. Our writers are listed on the Our Writers page with their beat and background.

Fixtures, results and league tables on this site are editorially maintained. They are not a live feed, and we say so on every page that carries them. We will label the source clearly if and when that changes.

Corrections

If we have got something wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Corrections to a published article are noted on the article itself rather than made silently. Write to us via the Contact page.

Independence

StraitScore is editorially independent. Sponsored or commercial content, if we ever run it, will be labelled as such and will not be written by the editorial team.
